Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar
- Activities:
- Arrive at Srinagar Airport and transfer to your houseboat/hotel.
- Relax with a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, taking in the surrounding beauty.
- Explore the Mughal Gardens and Srinagar’s old city markets.
- Overnight stay in Srinagar.
- Meals: Dinner.
Day 2: Srinagar to Sonamarg
- Activities:
- Early morning drive to Sonamarg (3-hour drive).
- Afternoon free for local exploration or rest.
- Briefing session on the upcoming trek.
- Overnight stay in Sonamarg at a campsite.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 3: Sonamarg to Nichnai via Shekdur
- Activities:
- Begin the trek from Sonamarg to Nichnai (13 km, 6-7 hours).
- Pass through the stunning meadows of Shekdur.
- Trek alongside the Sindh River and enjoy views of the Harmukh Peak.
- Camp in the Nichnai Valley.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 4: Nichnai to Vishansar Lake
- Activities:
- Trek to Vishansar Lake (12 km, 6-7 hours).
- Cross the Nichnai Pass (13,500 ft) with its spectacular views.
- Descend into the Vishansar Valley.
- Spend the evening by the scenic Vishansar Lake.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 5: Rest Day at Vishansar Lake
- Activities:
- Day to rest, acclimatize, and explore the area around Vishansar Lake.
- Optional short trek to Krishansar Lake, located nearby.
- Enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the lake surroundings.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 6: Vishansar Lake to Gadsar Lake
- Activities:
- Trek from Vishansar to Gadsar Lake (14 km, 7-8 hours).
- Cross Gadsar Pass (13,750 ft), the highest point of the trek.
- Trek through beautiful alpine meadows and spot wildflowers.
- Set up camp near the mesmerizing Gadsar Lake.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 7: Gadsar Lake to Satsar Lakes
- Activities:
- Continue the trek to Satsar Lakes (12 km, 6-7 hours).
- Pass through rocky terrains and witness cascading streams.
- Reach the cluster of Satsar Lakes, where you’ll set up camp.
- Explore the serene environment and relax by the lakes.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 8: Satsar Lakes to Gangbal Twin Lakes
- Activities:
- Trek to Gangbal Lakes (9 km, 5-6 hours).
- Cross Zach Pass and descend into the Gangbal Valley.
- Visit the twin lakes of Gangbal and Nundkol, revered by locals.
- Celebrate the successful trek with a bonfire by the lakeside.
- Overnight stay in tents.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 9: Gangbal to Naranag and Drive to Srinagar
- Activities:
- Trek from Gangbal to Naranag (10 km, 5-6 hours).
- Visit the ancient Naranag Temple ruins.
- Drive back to Srinagar (2-hour drive).
- Evening free for relaxation or shopping.
- Overnight stay in Srinagar.
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Day 10: Departure from Srinagar
- Activities:
- Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your departure.
- Farewell and end of the trek.
- Meals: Breakfast.
Important Information
Inclusions
- Accommodation in Srinagar (houseboat/hotel) for 2 nights.
- Camping accommodation during the trek (7 nights).
- All meals as mentioned in the itinerary.
- Experienced trekking guide and support staff.
- Camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, mats).
- Shikara ride on Dal Lake.
- Transfers from Srinagar to the trek starting point and back.
- Entry fees and trekking permits.
- First aid kit and oxygen support.
Exclusions
- Flights to and from Srinagar.
- Personal trekking gear.
- Travel insurance.
- Personal expenses such as tips, beverages, laundry, etc.
- Any additional activities or meals not mentioned in the itinerary.
- Emergency evacuation costs.
- Costs due to unforeseen circumstances (landslides, weather delays, etc.).
Terms and Conditions of Service
The contract between the service provider agency, Chicago Group of Houseboats , and the client is only effective upon receipt of full payment from the client.
Chicago Group of Houseboats reserves the right to:
a) Cancel the contract before the service date, in which case liability is limited to refunding the amount received from the client without interest.
b) Amend the route/timing of transportation services due to unavoidable circumstances.
Chicago Group of Houseboats is not responsible for improper services provided by any other agency apart from those officially confirmed by Chicago Group of Houseboats . The agency is also not liable for sudden situations that arise during the service period, such as damage, loss of luggage, or valuables, caused by the act or default of independent service associates.
Chicago Group of Houseboats shall not be liable for any death, injury, sickness, accidents, illegal or immoral activities, penalties due to activities against civic rules, or damage or loss of luggage or valuables.
The quoted amount for services is based on prevailing fuel and related costs at the time of quotation. Chicago Group of Houseboats reserves the right to amend the quoted rate due to changes in tax or surcharge structures, fuel costs, or other costs beyond its control. In such cases, Chicago Group of Houseboats will inform the client in advance of any additional payment required before the start of the service.
This contract is governed by Indian law, and any disputes should be resolved in the exclusive administrative jurisdiction of Siliguri subdivision of Darjeeling district in India.
Booking Procedure
Package bookings must be confirmed in writing.
All booking correspondence must be in writing.
Verbal communication will not be considered in case of disputes.
Bookings are confirmed only after receiving 50% of the total package cost.
The remaining payment must be cleared before starting the service.
Cancellation charges apply as follows
Cancellation must be communicated in writing to Chicago House Boats.
10% of the package cost deducted for cancellations after booking and advance payment.
5% deduction for service date changes made up to 30 days before the service, with the cost calculated based on the hotel and transportation costs for the new date.
20% deduction for cancellations made 30 days before the service starts.
40% deduction for cancellations made 29 to 15 days before the service.
50% deduction for cancellations made 14 to 10 days before the service.
60% deduction for cancellations made 9 to 6 days before the service.
90% deduction for cancellations made 5 days up to 48 hours befoare the service.
100% deduction for cancellations made within 48 hours of the service or in case of no-show.
