Day Wise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar
- Activities:
Arrive in Srinagar, where you’ll be welcomed by our representative. Transfer to your hotel or houseboat. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride on Dal Lake, followed by a visit to the Mughal Gardens. - Overnight: Srinagar
Day 2: Srinagar to Sonamarg (Drive)
- Activities:
Depart for Sonamarg, the “Meadow of Gold,” after breakfast. Enjoy the drive along the Sindh River with spectacular mountain views. Upon arrival, check into your campsite and explore the beautiful surroundings. - Overnight: Sonamarg (Campsite)
Day 3: Trek from Sonamarg to Nichnai
- Trek Distance: 12 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 3,505m
- Activities:
Begin your trek from Sonamarg, ascending through picturesque pine forests and across lush meadows. Reach the Nichnai campsite, set against a backdrop of mountains and streams. - Overnight: Nichnai (Campsite)
Day 4: Nichnai to Vishansar Lake via Nichnai Pass
- Trek Distance: 12 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 3,710m
- Activities:
Cross the Nichnai Pass to reach Vishansar Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the region. Relax by the lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and blooming meadows. - Overnight: Vishansar Lake (Campsite)
Day 5: Trek from Vishansar to Gadsar via Gadsar Pass
- Trek Distance: 14 km | Trek Duration: 7-8 hours | Altitude: 4,200m
- Activities:
Trek to Gadsar Lake, passing over the Gadsar Pass, the highest point of the trek. Gadsar Lake is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and alpine flowers. - Overnight: Gadsar (Campsite)
Day 6: Gadsar to Satsar Lakes
- Trek Distance: 12 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 3,600m
- Activities:
The trail today leads to Satsar, a collection of seven stunning alpine lakes. The path is a mix of rugged terrain and soft meadows, offering breathtaking views. - Overnight: Satsar (Campsite)
Day 7: Satsar to Gangbal Twin Lakes via Zaj Pass
- Trek Distance: 9 km | Trek Duration: 6-7 hours | Altitude: 3,575m
- Activities:
Trek over the Zaj Pass to reach the enchanting Gangbal Twin Lakes, situated at the foot of Mount Haramukh. Spend your evening exploring the area and enjoying the serene atmosphere. - Overnight: Gangbal (Campsite)
Day 8: Trek to Naranag and Drive to Srinagar
- Trek Distance: 12 km | Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
- Activities:
Descend to Naranag, where the trekking portion of your adventure ends. Drive back to Srinagar for a restful evening and an opportunity to explore the local markets. - Overnight: Srinagar
Day 9: Cultural Tour of Srinagar and Surroundings
- Activities:
Enjoy a full day of exploring the cultural and historical sites of Srinagar. Visit the ancient Shankaracharya Temple, the Mughal Gardens, and the vibrant markets of the old city. Experience the local cuisine with a traditional Kashmiri Wazwan meal. - Overnight: Srinagar
Day 10: Departure from Srinagar
- Activities:
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have time to do some last-minute shopping or sightseeing before being transferred to the airport for your departure. - Departure: Drop off at Srinagar Airport

- Trekking gear and personal equipment (trekking shoes, clothing, etc.)
- Any additional excursions not mentioned in the itinerary
- Costs arising due to unforeseen circumstances (weather conditions, landslides, etc.)
- Optional activities in Srinagar (e.g., additional Shikara rides, shopping, etc.)
Terms and Conditions of Service
The contract between the service provider agency, Chicago Group of Houseboats , and the client is only effective upon receipt of full payment from the client.
Chicago Group of Houseboats reserves the right to:
a) Cancel the contract before the service date, in which case liability is limited to refunding the amount received from the client without interest.
b) Amend the route/timing of transportation services due to unavoidable circumstances.
Chicago Group of Houseboats is not responsible for improper services provided by any other agency apart from those officially confirmed by Chicago Group of Houseboats . The agency is also not liable for sudden situations that arise during the service period, such as damage, loss of luggage, or valuables, caused by the act or default of independent service associates.
Chicago Group of Houseboats shall not be liable for any death, injury, sickness, accidents, illegal or immoral activities, penalties due to activities against civic rules, or damage or loss of luggage or valuables.
The quoted amount for services is based on prevailing fuel and related costs at the time of quotation. Chicago Group of Houseboats reserves the right to amend the quoted rate due to changes in tax or surcharge structures, fuel costs, or other costs beyond its control. In such cases, Chicago Group of Houseboats will inform the client in advance of any additional payment required before the start of the service.
This contract is governed by Indian law, and any disputes should be resolved in the exclusive administrative jurisdiction of Siliguri subdivision of Darjeeling district in India.
Booking Procedure
Package bookings must be confirmed in writing.
All booking correspondence must be in writing.
Verbal communication will not be considered in case of disputes.
Bookings are confirmed only after receiving 50% of the total package cost.
The remaining payment must be cleared before starting the service.
Cancellation charges apply as follows
Cancellation must be communicated in writing to Chicago House Boats.
10% of the package cost deducted for cancellations after booking and advance payment.
5% deduction for service date changes made up to 30 days before the service, with the cost calculated based on the hotel and transportation costs for the new date.
20% deduction for cancellations made 30 days before the service starts.
40% deduction for cancellations made 29 to 15 days before the service.
50% deduction for cancellations made 14 to 10 days before the service.
60% deduction for cancellations made 9 to 6 days before the service.
90% deduction for cancellations made 5 days up to 48 hours befoare the service.
100% deduction for cancellations made within 48 hours of the service or in case of no-show.
